Robert H. Woodworth died of natural causes on August 23 1998 in Monterey, California; he was 76 years old.  Robert was born on June 5, 1922, in Ossining, NY, and was a graduate of Fordham University.  He served in World War II in the Fifteenth Air Force, 464th Bomb Group, 779th Squadron as a bombardier.  After graduating from Fordham and serving in the Army Air Force, Robert worked in sales as an Account Manager in the commercial office furniture business for thirty years in the Ossining area.  In 1976 he moved to Monterey, California, where he lived until his death in 1998.

Robert had no children and was never married.  He was a gentle soul and a big-hearted man who was close to the family of his WWII pilot, who lived in Monterey.  He was Godfather to one of his pilot's children, and was affectionately known to all five of those children as Uncle Woody.
